Reset button

  • Q: Where is the reset button?
  • A: The reset button is located on the left side of the device and can be activated by pressing the button with the tip of a pen or small screwdriver.
  • Q: What happens when I press the reset button?
  • A: Pressing the reset button puts the device into standby mode until the call button is pressed or the device is placed on the charging cradle. The light will turn red after the reset button is pressed. When the reset button is pressed the following voice notification is heard: "Powering off. To power back on, press the SOS button or place on the charging cradle."
  • Q: How long does the reset button need to be held in order to power off the device?
  • A: The reset button can be pressed for less than a second. After the reset button is pressed, the light will turn red.
  • Q: After I reset the device, what happens when I place it on the charging cradle?
  • A: The device will power on, end reset mode, and begin charging. Once charged, it will be able to make a call.
  • Q: How do I make a call after a reset without placing it on the charging cradle?
  • A: Pressing the call button once will automatically power up the device. Pressing the call button a second time will make a call.

Charging cradle

  • Q: How do I know the charging cradle is receiving power?
  • A: The charging cradle has a red LED light at the back of the cradle. When the charging cradle is plugged in and receiving power, this light will be illuminated.
  • Q: Does it matter which direction the device is placed in the charging cradle?
  • A: Yes, the device must be placed with the speaker above the button. If placed in the cradle incorrectly, the device will not charge.
  • Q: How do I know if the device is charging?
  • A: It is charging when the call button is flashing red. When placed into the cradle, it will power on and then state, "Charging."
  • Q: How do I know when the device is fully charged?
  • A: It is fully charged when the call button is solid red.

Lanyard and belt clip

  • Q: How do we replace a lanyard with the belt clip?
  • A: In order to replace the lanyard, first remove the lanyard by twisting and pulling the silver clip. Pull the lanyard and clip away from the device. Then, press the belt clip onto the back until it clicks. View an instruction video here.

Pacemakers

Individuals with pacemakers should consult their physician and review their pacemaker materials regarding interaction with cell phones, and take the same precautions the materials recommend for this device.

How can I test fall detection?

Drop the device from chest height onto a pillow or carpet (no hard surfaces so as not to scratch the device) OR throw the device about 2-3 feet high, catch, and then shake in your hands as you would dice.

How often should I clean the device? How should it be cleaned?

We recommend that users clean the device weekly to ensure proper charging.

Take a soft cloth, such as an eyeglass cleaning cloth, and gently rub the gold contacts on the device and charging cradle to remove dirt, oil and debris.

You can also spray household cleaner onto the cleaning cloth (though do not spray directly onto the device or cradle) to remove debris.

How often should I test the device?

We recommend that users test the device weekly.

  1. To test, press and hold the call button and count 1, 2, 3, or until the light turns blue, then release the button.
  2. After a short delay, you will hear a voice message and then tones or ringing.
  3. The specialist will answer the call.
  4. Tell the specialist you are testing.
  5. If your device does not test properly, the user is advised to contact their dealer immediately.

How should I call for help?

  1. Press and hold the call button and count 1, 2, 3 or until the light turns blue, then release the button.
  2. After a short delay, the user will hear a voice message and then tones or ringing.
  3. The specialist will answer the call.
  4. The specialist can send emergency personnel or loved ones to help you.
  5. If the device does not connect properly, the user is advised to contact their dealer immediately.

Why does the light appear pink at times?

When the red and blue lights flash simultaneously, the light can appear pink. This is normal.

Are there magnets in the device or cradle?

There are magnets in the device speaker and lanyard. Individuals with pacemakers should consult their physician and review their pacemaker materials regarding interaction.

How should I wear the device so it accurately detects falls?

For most accurate fall detection, it should be worn outside of the clothes, on the chest with the included lanyard.
