Create and Manage Geofences
What is Geofencing
A Geofence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic area. Geofencing, involves using the GPS location of your Safety+ device to determine when your Loved One has entered or exited that real world location.
With Connected Caregiver, you can save up to five Geofences that represent locations where you expect that your Loved One will be safe. Examples include their home, a family member or friend's home, the grocery store, doctor's office, and more. Connected Caregiver sends real time notifications and current GPS location when your Loved One enters or exits a Geofence so that you can be alerted immediately if they leave unexpectedly.
Create a New Geofence
- Navigate to the tracking section of the Connected Caregiver app using the bottom navigation
- Tap on the bell icon on the GeoLocation tracking card. If you don't see the GeoLocation tracking card click here for instructions to enable the tracking card.
- Tap the + icon to create a new Geofence
- Enter in the Geofence name, address, and radius. The radius refers to the distance around the map location at which you would like to be notified if your Loved One enters or exits. For example if you don't need to be notified when your Loved One goes outside into the yard, but do want to be notified if they cross the street, you would want to set the radius wide enough to encompass the entire yard.
